37+ Slate Roof Vs Asphalt Shingles PNG. I am buying a beautiful cape that has a gorgeous slate roof across the entire front side of the home, but the back side is all asphalt shingles. I've gone through a lot of old posts and i still would like to hear some current pros vs.
Our son has a small 1941 slate roof house which needs reroofing and given the type of house it is it is definitely not worth going to the expense of using is it possible or advisable (or even necessary for the asphalt shingle warranty as i have read) to install some kind of additional venting system?
I've gone through a lot of old posts and i still would like to hear some current pros vs. Metal roofs cost more upfront than asphalt shingles, but can last for up to 50 years. Shakes and slate are expensive to purchase, and extremely laborious to install.
